Countdown To Easter 2 Days!

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land.And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Matthew 27: 45-46

Jesus said these famous words on the Cross before He died. Many people know these words by heart but have no idea what they actually mean. Jesus was sent to Earth to DIE for our sins because we have fallen short of the glory of God. God is all Holy, powerful, and perfect. Sin cannot be in his presence...that's why Jesus had to die for us...to be the sacrifice that pays for our sins so that we could enter God's presence. When Jesus was on the cross...the weight of the world was placed upon His shoulders. In other words...all our sins was carried on HIM. Because God is perfect...God had to turn away from Him...His only son because He was carrying OUR sin. Can you imagine that kind of love? Not only did Jesus DIE for us...he also endured the pain of being completely torn away from God. The definition of Hell is the complete absence of God...This is what Jesus suffered...for me...For You...for all of us, so that we may meet God, our creator and Father, face to Face one day! :)
