Jesus eats with the Sinners... "And when the scribes and Pharisees saw Him eating with the tax collectors and sinners, they said to His disciples, “How is it that He eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?” When Jesus heard it, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance." (Mark 2: 16-17)
Jesus spent alot of time with the lost...because they needed Him too. And I think he was trying to teach us a lesson...If He was walking the Earth personally right now...would he spend all his time faithfully at church...or out feeding the poor and comforting the broken hearted? Would he turn his nose up in disapproval at people Christians often see as "dirty" or "filthy" or would he welcome them home with open arms despite their history? Just a thought...I think we all know the answer :)***Note...Not that you shouldn't go to church...or skip it to feed the hungry. Church is an important part of our relationship and growth as a christian because it puts us in an environment around others who help us to grow, learn from us and teach us, and keep us accountable. However, my point is we should still be reaching out...because a lot of times the people who really need to hear are outside the church somewhere and will never come on their own. It's just so important that we reach the lost...and not just stay cooped up in our safe little church surrounded by people who already know...and are already believers when there are people out their desperately counting on us.
God Bless
